The Art Academy, a specialist after school club for 8 - 18 year olds, is for the first time this year going to be running a series of summer workshops.

The Academy has been established for two years and is going from strength to strength with 40 children currently attending lessons during term. This year the children have been involved in various projects including creating a mural for Wimborne in Bloom, studying the work of Degas, Van Gogh and Lowry and the regular members will be holding an exhibition of their work at the end of August.

Alison Board the Academy's tutor has put together a varied programme for children to explore their creative talents during the summer holidays at the Tilseds Art Centre & Gallery with subjects including watercolour, cartooning and printing.

Tuesday 14th August WATERCOLOUR DAY! (for ages 8 - 11)
1.00p.m. - 2.15p.m. Experiments with watercolour, clingfilm & salt.
2.30p.m. - 3.45p.m. Seascapes in watercolour.
All equipment/materials are included in your fee, max. 8 children per session £6 per child, per session or £11 for both sessions

Wednesday 15th August ACRYLIC DAY! (for ages 10 - 14)
1.00p.m. - 2.15p.m. Experiments with paint and collage.
2.30p.m. - 3.45p.m. Landscapes in Acrylic.
4.00p.m. - 5.15p.m. 14+ years ONLY - Trees and leaves in Acrylic.
All equipment/materials are included in your fee, max. 8 children per session £6 per child, per session

Tuesday 21st August CARTOON DAY! (for ages 8 - 11)
1.00p.m. - 2.15p.m. Invent your own cartoon character.
2.30p.m. - 3.45p.m. Plasticine modelling.
All equipment/materials are included in your fee, max. 8 children per session £6 per child, per session or £11 for both sessions

Wednesday 22nd August WATERCOLOUR DAY! (for ages 10 - 14)
1.00p.m. - 2.15p.m. Experiments with colour.
2.30p.m. - 3.45p.m. Landscapes in Watercolour.
4.00p.m. - 5.15p.m. 14+ years ONLY - Seashells in Watercolour.

Tuesday 28th August PRINTING DAY! (for ages 8 - 11)
1.00p.m. - 2.15p.m. Printing with potato and polystyrene.
2.30p.m. - 3.45p.m. Printing on to fabric.

Wednesday 29th August DRAWING DAY! (for ages 10 - 14)
1.00p.m. - 2.15p.m. Experiments with charcoal and chalk.
2.30p.m. - 3.45p.m. Animals in Pastel.
4.00p.m. - 5.15p.m. 14+ years ONLY - Landscapes in Pastel
